Top Tips for my Baked Homemade French Fries

  • Use large potatoes such as Maris Piper’s so that you end up with authentic long french fries.
  • Soak the chopped fries in ice cold water a minimum of 30 minutes, this removes all the starch from the potatoes so that you end up with super crisp french fries
  • Make sure you dry them thoroughly with a tea towel after soaking! If there is any residual moisture then your fries will end up being soft when you put them in the oven.
  • Lay your potatoes out evenly on your oven tray lined with parchment paper in a single layer. If you stack them on top of one another then you’ll send up with soft fries which we do not want!
  • Lastly, enjoy with tons of ketchup because these baked homemade french fries are technically healthy!
