Viral Dubai Chocolate Dates Recipe

Here are my Viral Dubai Chocolate Dates they combine the natural sweetness of dates, the nuttiness of pistachio paste, and the crunch of kataifi pastry, all wrapped in smooth milk chocolate and finished with a touch of gold.

Viral Dubai Chocolate Dates made with dates, pistachio paste, and the crunch of kataifi pastry wrapped in milk chocolate

Ingredients:

  • 14 Medjool dates
  • 40g kataifi pastry
  • 60g pistachio paste, plus 20g extra for garnish
  • 30g tahini
  • 180g milk chocolate
  • 1 tbsp ghee
  • Gold spray (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dates:
    • Wash the Medjool dates thoroughly and pat them dry with a clean towel.
    • Carefully pit each date by making a small slit on one side and removing the seed. Set aside.
  2. Prepare the Kataifi Pastry:
    • Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee in a medium pan over medium heat.
    • Add the kataifi pastry and fry, stirring frequently, until it turns golden brown and crispy. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  3. Make the Filling:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the pistachio paste, fried kataifi pastry, and tahini. Mix well until the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  4. Stuff the Dates:
    • Using a teaspoon, scoop approximately 1 teaspoon of the filling into each date.
    • Close the dates gently and place them on a sheet of parchment paper.
    • Refrigerate for 10 minutes to allow the filling to set.
  5. Coat in Chocolate:
    • Melt the milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl or over a double boiler until smooth.
    • Using a fork, dip each stuffed date into the melted chocolate, ensuring it is fully coated. Tap off any excess chocolate and place the coated dates onto parchment paper.
    • Refrigerate for 20 minutes to set the chocolate.
  6. Decorate:
    • Heat 20g of pistachio paste in the microwave until soft and transfer it to a piping bag.
    • Spray the dates with edible gold spray for a luxurious finish (optional).
    • Pipe a drizzle of pistachio paste over each date.
    • Refrigerate for an additional 20 minutes to set the garnish.
  7. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Remove from the fridge and serve these decadent treats. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Tips for making the Viral Dubai Chocolate Dates

  • Use high-quality Medjool dates for the best texture and flavor.
  • If you don’t have a piping bag, use a small plastic bag with the tip snipped off to drizzle the pistachio paste.
