My 3 ingredient chocolate orange mousse is one of those desserts that feels far more impressive than the effort it requires. It is rich, airy and indulgent, yet made with just three simple ingredients. No eggs, no gelatine and no baking required! I used Terry’s Chocolate Orange which gives the mousse its signature citrus chocolate flavour. Topped with final sprinkle of fresh orange zest on top finishes it off beautifully!

This mousse is based on my easy 3 ingredient chocolate mousse recipe, with the cream carefully split and folded in two stages to give it that that soft and airy texture while still holding its shape beautifully in the glass. It is perfect for dinner parties, date nights or when you want something decadent ready in under half an hour.

Top tips
• Do not heat the chocolate and cream mixture for more than 30 seconds at a time or it may split, in between intervals remove from the microwave and stir. The residual heat from heating it will mean it will continue to melt as you stir!
• Whip your cream slowly and stop just before soft peaks form. Over-whipping will make it grainy.
• Fold gently to keep the mousse light and airy.
• Do not refrigerate for more than 40 minutes or the mousse will become too firm.
• Use a palette knife to smooth the tops for a clean finish.
