Shirazi Salad

Shirazi Salad in my opinion is THE ultimate salad. I know that’s a bold claim but it tastes so good and pairs beautifully with just about everything. It’s a Persian Salad so make sure you give it a go and let me know what you think.

Ingredients

  • 1 cucumber
  • 3 medium tomatoes
  • 1 large red onion or two small red onions
  • juice of 1 lemon
  • 1 and a half teaspoons of dried mint
  • salt to taste

How to make Shirazi Salad

  1. Begin by washing all the vegetables for the persian salad and allowing them to dry in a colander or using some kitchen towel.
  2. Finely dice the cucumber by cutting it lengthways into strips. Stack them and cut into small cubes. As shown in my video. Add the cucumber to a large salad bowl
  3. Repeat this with the tomatoes and finally the red onion. Add both to the salad bowl.
  4. Season with lemon juice, dried mint and a generous amount of salt.
  5. Toss to serve and enjoy!
