Salt and Pepper Chips

Salt and Pepper Chips are delicious and my current fixation meal! Perfect for a quick snack or a flavourful side dish. This recipe is simple, packed with flavour, and can be tweaked to suit your tastebuds.


Ingredients:

For the Chips:

  • 400g store-bought frozen fries
  • 1 medium red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 of each peppers (red, yellow, and green), thinly sliced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2-3 spring onions, finely sliced
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • Optional 1 tsp of ketchup
  • Fresh coriander, chopped (for garnish)

For the Seasoning Mix:

  • 1 tsp MSG
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp dried oregano
  • ½ tbsp freshly ground black pepper
  • Salt to taste

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chips:
    • Cook the frozen fries according to the package instructions (air fry or bake for best results). Set aside.
  2. Sauté the Vegetables:
    • Heat the olive oil in a large frying pan or wok over medium heat.
    • Add the sliced red onions and sauté until they become translucent.
    • Toss in the sliced bell peppers and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until slightly softened but still crisp.
  3. Combine and Season:
    • Add the prepared chips to the pan with the vegetables.
    • Sprinkle the seasoning mix evenly over the chips and vegetables.
    • Drizzle the soy sauce over the mixture and toss everything together until well coated.
  4. Add Fresh Elements:
    • Stir in the spring onions and chopped coriander. Mix well to combine.
  5. Serve and Garnish:
    • Transfer the Salt and Pepper Chips to a serving dish.
    • Garnish with additional fresh coriander and serve immediately.
