This is an easy, festive cranberry drink that looks impressive without much effort. My homemade ice cubes are such a nice way to make a simple drink feel a bit more fancy! Perfect for any dinner parties you might be planning on hosting this Christmas.

Christmas Ice Cubes

Ingredients:
- 6 Quarter slices of orange
- 6 Small sprigs of rosemary
- Cherries (fresh or frozen)
- 6 Star anise
- Cranberry juice
- Large ice-cube moulds — I’ve linked the ones I used
Method:
- Add an orange quarter, a rosemary sprig, a couple of cherries and a star anise to each section of the ice-cube mould.
- Pour cranberry juice over the top to fill the moulds.
- Freeze overnight or for at least six hours.
- Once fully frozen, remove the cubes and keep them in the freezer until needed.
How to make my Festive Cranberry drink:

Ingredients (per glass):
- 1 festive ice cube
- Cranberry juice
- 1 × 150 ml can of Schweppes Lemonade
- Edible gold dust (optional — mine was from Sainsbury’s)
Method:
- Add one ice cube to a glass.
- Pour in cranberry juice until the glass is about half full.
- Top up with Schweppes Lemonade.
- Add a small pinch of gold dust if you want a subtle festive shimmer.
Why use large ice cubes
Larger cubes melt more slowly, so the drink stays chilled without becoming watered down. The moulds linked above are a good size for holding the fruit and spices, and they freeze cleanly without losing shape. Just make sure you remember to lay them flat in your freezer to avoid making any cranberry flavoured mess!
